Shout out to Carter Grace Foundation

A HUGE thank you to Carter Grace Foundation for their generous $200 donation to our counseling program! Because of their support, we were able to purchase a variety of fidgets and sensory tools for our students at Alpena School District.

Fidgets are more than just something to keep a student’s hands busy. For many students, including those with ADHD, sensory processing differences, anxiety, autism, and other learning or regulation needs, appropriate sensory tools can help support focus, self-regulation, attention, and emotional regulation throughout the school day.

Sometimes a student needs something small for their hands to help their brain stay engaged. Sometimes they need sensory input to feel calm and ready to learn. Having a variety of tools available allows us to meet students where they are and give them another strategy for managing big feelings, staying focused, and participating successfully in the classroom.

We are so grateful to organizations like the Carter Grace Foundation that recognize the importance of supporting the whole child. Your generosity will make a difference in the everyday lives of our students!
